Brent Voyles

President and Owner

Brent has always enjoyed creating things with his hands. For the first two decades of his career, he worked in collision repair. As production manager, Brent managed people, projects, and processes. In cooperation with Parkland College, Brent helped develop the body shop training and job placement program which later became the Parkland College Collision Repair Program.

Brent has always been a skilled craftsman. About 20 years ago, he put his management and creative talent to work to start his own home remodeling business. As President and Owner of Voyles Home Improvement, Brent still works with his hands, creates things, solves problems, and teaches young people. The bonus is the people and seeing how happy they are when their projects are completed.

“The most satisfying part of my job is when we make a customer’s dream come true by taking something from not so pretty to awesome. Or, when we create something from nothing; like making a built-in cabinet from rough lumber. That’s why we do what we do,” explains Brent.

Sean Voyles

Owner

Sean has worked in construction since 2006. In addition to initially working with his dad, he spent a year gutting and remodeling rental units in Bloomington, Illinois. Sean has also worked for several regional construction companies, perfecting his drywalling, painting, carpentry, and other remodeling skills. 

In 2023, Sean returned to work with Brent as co-owner of Voyles Home Improvements. Sean appreciates having the opportunity to hone his carpentry skills building custom cabinets, built-ins, and other made-to-order pieces. He enjoys both the creativity and practical skills needed to build a piece of furniture—designing it, determining each piece’s dimensions, and assessing the best use of the wood.

For Sean, the challenge isn’t just building a beautiful, quality piece that a customer will appreciate and enjoy, but doing so in an appropriate amount of time. “Whether it’s a mudroom bench, fireplace mantle, or custom-built distressed ceiling beams, I constantly challenged myself to be the best I can be, while creating good value for the customer,” explains Sean.
